IP Address Lookup

Look up geolocation, ISP, timezone, and network details for any IP address.

How to Use This IP Lookup Tool

Step 1 — Enter an IP Address: Type any IPv4 address into the search field, such as 8.8.8.8 for Google's DNS server. If you leave the field blank and click Lookup (or click "My IP"), the tool automatically detects and displays information about your own public IP address.

Step 2 — Click Lookup: The tool queries a geolocation database and returns detailed information including country, region, city, ZIP code, latitude and longitude coordinates, timezone, ISP name, organization, and AS (Autonomous System) number. Results appear instantly in a clean grid layout.

Step 3 — Review the Results: Check the geolocation data to understand where an IP is registered. Keep in mind that geolocation estimates the location of the ISP's routing point, not the exact physical location of the device. VPN and proxy usage can make results appear in a different city or country.

Common Use Cases: Verify the location of website visitors for analytics, investigate suspicious login attempts by checking the IP's origin, troubleshoot network connectivity by confirming your own public IP, or research ISP and hosting provider details for any IP address.

What is an IP address?
An IP address is a unique numerical label assigned to each device connected to a computer network. IPv4 addresses look like 192.168.1.1, while IPv6 addresses are longer hexadecimal strings.
How accurate is IP geolocation?
IP geolocation is typically accurate to city level (90-95%), but cannot pinpoint exact addresses. VPNs and proxies can make results inaccurate.
Can I find someone's exact location from their IP?
No. IP geolocation can only estimate the city or region. Exact physical addresses are not available from IP addresses alone.
What is an ISP?
ISP stands for Internet Service Provider. It is the company that provides internet access to users, such as Comcast, AT&T, or Verizon.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 uses 32-bit addresses (about 4.3 billion), while IPv6 uses 128-bit addresses (340 undecillion). IPv6 was created to address IPv4 exhaustion.
Can IP addresses reveal my browsing history?
No. An IP address only reveals your approximate location and ISP. It cannot show which websites you visit or any personal data.
Why does my IP show a different city?
ISPs often route traffic through data centers in nearby cities. This means the geolocated IP may not match your exact city.
Is this IP lookup tool free?
Yes, this tool is completely free with no signup required. It uses public APIs to provide IP geolocation data.
