Estimate roof area, materials, and cost based on dimensions and pitch
1. Measure footprint: Enter the length and width of your building's footprint (the area covered by the roof as seen from above).
2. Select pitch: Choose your roof pitch (rise in inches per 12 inches of run). Steeper roofs have more surface area.
3. Pick material: Select roofing material or enter a custom price per square. One square = 100 sq ft.
4. Add waste factor: 10-15% is standard. Complex roofs with many valleys and hips may need 15-20%.
